characteristics of God

Zephaniah 3:17
The Lord God is with you , he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.

I came across this wonderful verse the other day and I was blessed because it spoke to me of the character of God. (1) God is with you, (2) He is might to save, (3) He delights in you. (4) H will quiet you with Love. (5) He will rejoice over you with singing. What wonderful words of assurance in the face of difficulties and troubled times. When we read Zephaniah prophecy we can be sure our God is faithful and we can rejoice right along with him. B

rest

Mark 6:31
come aside.....and rest a while.
We all need a rest once in a while, a place to think, to pray, to hear from God,to refuel and rethink our present course. A change of of old habits, a change of places and people. A rest from the everyday living and busy life. Its time to get away and rest awhile. Matt.11:28.... Jesus says"come unto me, all who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest." will you come and rest? B

fight this battle

2nd Chronicles 20, is a wonderful account of Faith and worship. Jehoshaphat was told "A great multitude is coming against you from beyond the sea." The king went to the house of the Lord and prayed. God heard his prayer and sent Jahaziel with an answer. "King Jehoshaphat! Do not be afraid or dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours but God's"
You will not have to fight this battle. Position yourselves. stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground and worshiped the Lord.
God fought the battle and all they had to do was trust and worship. Isn't that what God wants us to do ? B

seek

Jeremiah 29:13

"and you shall seek me and find me, when you shall search for me with all your heart."

James 5:16
" the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avials much."

God wants us to seek him and he desires earnest seekers. Are we earnest seekers of God? If not why not? B

The Grand in Grandkids

Grand kids are such a blessing and I have the honor of having three who are the best. Going on a road trip with two preteens and a sixteen year old doesn't sound like fun to some people but we had a very good time and I hope we get to do it again before they get to old to want to spend time with their grandparents. We had a great time visiting with family in Alabama and enjoyed seeing the sites that state has to offer. Introducing our grandchildren to places and people we knew when we were growing up was great. So we had some great rest and relaxation and they got to know their cousins and Aunts and Uncles better so how great was that. B

Prayer Training with Pastor Michael Obi

Hello Ladies,
I would like to announce that Pastor Michael Obi will be at Ark of the Covenant Worship Center on July 17-19 doing a prayer training which will include a prayer walking and prophetic action practical application. He will come on Thursday night and would like to speak somewhere on Friday morning. Would you guys like to have him on Friday morning? He is the Pastor of Prayer Center Church, Cleveland, Tn and a coordinator for Awake America 9-1-1.

Finished - I am so glad

I am so glad that our blog is finally finished and now everyone can get on and share their thoughts and ideas. This is another way to be able to bring forth your hidden talent of writing. Everyone has stories, so share them, maybe a favorite bible verse or poem or just a question that is on your mind. I am not a expert on this blogging thing, so we will all learn together, I think it will be lots of fun . I can't wait to see who is going to be the first one to BLOG! B

Prayerwalking

What a way to seek God and to pray for your neighbors and pray over your neighborhood, all at the same time. God's word tell us to "pray without ceasing." Remember that prayerwalking is about walking with Jesus in your world. He wants us to talk to Him where ever we are and what ever we're doing and to pray especially for those around us. Doing this wonderful task of getting fresh air, exercise and talking to God may present you the opportunity to tell someone else all about the Jesus that you love and that loves the world. How exciting this can be to let that person know that Jesus lived and died for them too, just like He did for you and me. And the best part is He's alive today and wants to have a relationship with you. Blessings and success as you learn to prayerwalk.

Faith

We know that the Bible says God will answer our prayers if we pray according to His will. 1 John 5:14 says; "Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him." So we asked, "What's the problem?" The problem is, we think God needs our help sometimes and all we are doing is getting in His way. Just pray God's will be done according to His will and timing and sit back and rest in Him and watch His mighty hand at work.

Meribah

We have learned that "meribah" means to grumble or complain, but we also have learned if we rest in the Lord we will find peace. "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me you might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulations; but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." (John 16:33) There is only one thing that God requires of us to enter into this moment by moment sabbath, the place of perfect peace and stability. That is 'faith". God has given us His word and it is full of His promises. We all need to read and ponder on them. His word says; "Your faith should not rest on the wisdom of men, but in the power of God." (1 Cor. 2:5) What a good word for such a time as this. Be blessed and rest in the Lord.

Going - Over

My little electronic dictionary tells me that the word (going) means to proceed on a certain course or go slow. And the word (over) means, across a barrier or intervening space. There has been a lot of going-over in the little prayer house these last few months. First we gave the building a good going over, New paint inside and out, new floors inside, out with the old and in with the new. The going was slow , the ladies had set a certain course and it took time to get there but the results are outstanding.We had plenty of barriers to cross but we prevailed and made our goal. We have experienced some (going- over) in our personal lives thur this time too.
Many have felt the aches and pains hard work brings. (we are not as young as we use to be) A lot of our routines were disturbed, our prayer times were changed a lot, we prayed over literal barriers a lot those months but the house was never closed for repair. Prayer was lifted up there everyday right on time. The Ladies were blessed and blessed with God's faithful blessings . His blessing always right on time every time we needed it. Thanks goes to all the Praying Ladies for all the hard work, the prayers, the money that was given, the voices of appreciation and encouragement . Psalm 90-17 May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us; yes establish the work of our hands. We pray for the Lord to rest on the work of our hands. B

Week

This week is a week of celebration and joy. You may be asking why I think that? Since we are facing so many hardships and preils in the world and in our own backyard, most of us have to search to find something to be joyful about. A little laugh is hard to come by most days but is something we need the most. I love to be around fun loving people and I am blessed to be around a bunch of those people everyday at the little prayer house.
So this week we are celebrating the most Holy week a christian can, the Death, Burial, and Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are rejoicing in God's Mercy for us. And our Joy comes from what Jesus did for us on the cross. Up from the grave he arose, Glory!!! John 11:25 Jesus said to her "I am the resurrection and the life, He who believes in me, though he may die,he shall live. (26) " and whoever lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?" Jesus was speaking to Martha in those verses, but that message goes out into all the world. If you believe in Jesus you have life. Joyful, Joyful I adore thee the song says.
This week is we are celebrating I hope you are too. So Smile, laugh, rejoice Jesus is alive and wants to rejoice with you. B

Old

I hope I never get to old to want to learn new things, I also hope as I get older my mind stays clear and lucid so I can use what I have learned. I want to share with anyone who cares to read this, two things I learned last week. Our Church called a week of fasting and prayer, to pray for our church, country, family and other important matters. I felt I needed to fast watching the news. (since I spend a lot of time watching news, I won't share how much) It took me a couple of days to figure out what to do with all that spare time I suddenly had aquired. Then I realized the reason for fasting and praying is to pray instead of eating or watching the news in my case. So when I got that part settled, I learned that God handled everything just fine and he didn't need my opinion at all. (what a surprise) I was geting a lesson on trusting God, something I battle with all the time.
The second thing I learned during the week,I was to rest and rejoice in the Lord. In my case I was to rest my body from stress and busy work. Be still and know I am God the Bible says. I really need to learn to be still and know God. Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice. Philippians 4:4. So I do not want to forget what I have learned and am going to be sure to lighten up and remember God is in control.

Hope

It seems as the world is going mad. Every place we look we hear bad news, the newspaper, TV, radio and computer. It is very depressing when we dwell on it. But Praise God we have Hope and life in the Word of God. Joel 2:12-13 " therefore also now, saith the Lord, Turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning : for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil." When you follow God's leading you will be amazed at the incredible sense of peace you will exprience. Hope and Life comes thru God's Son Jesus Christ.

House

A little 1940's House was sitting forlorn on a corner of a very busy street. Its paint was peeling and the paint on the tin roof was fading and rusting. The inside was tired and worn and in much need of cleaning and a lot of love. So a few women wanted to start praying together and asked for the use of the little House to meet in to Pray. As we met every week to pray Things changed in our lives because God was working and also our little house started to come alive again as well. It was cleaned and painted inside and made liveable for us to enjoy. We also added our special touches. But the most important part of this transformation was what God was doing, moulding together a special group of Ladies who have been meeting to pray together for eight and half years. Matthew 18:20 ( for where two or three come together in my name, there I am with them.) The word of God is our sword. Prayer times everyday starting at 10:30.
